Math- We have started learning our MULTIPLICATION FACTS!!!! We are focusing on the importance of equal groups and starting to learn the difference between Division Word Problems and Multiplication Word Problems. The students are so excited. In Unit 4 we will focus on the following facts: 0, 1, 5, 10, 2, 4, and 3. We will come back to get the other facts in Unit 7. Social Studies - The students have been learning the difference between items we have now versus what they were like back in the day. They are working away on making a project to present to their class. Some examples include: schools, sports, farms, cars, and machinery. Science- Hold on to your boats!!! We are about to become wind sail engineers this coming week. The class has brainstormed what materials they are going to use to make their boat get from one side of the classroom to the other. All they have to power it is a fan. Who will complete the mission and build the best sail.... stay tuned!! Writing - Students are working on being able to add voice into their stories through the help of Verbs and other words for said. Here is a look at our posters on all the different words you can use for each punctuation mark! Important Reminders:
*Field Trip to MSUM on Wednesday, Nov. 16th at 1pm *Please be signing your child's agenda and recording their reading minutes it is their homework. Fluency packet counts towards the 20 minutes *BRRRRR it is getting cold outside. Make sure your child has a hat, winter coat, and mittens or gloves. Once there is snow on the ground they will need boots and snowpants! Help lost and found by putting your child's last name with a sharpie on everything they own! My favorite project has been completed!!! I wish that the turkey's would turn the right way however they seem to be really in disguise and not wanted to be eaten as they will not rotate! Let me know if you would like a better picture and I can for sure email you one! Enjoy!! The students were so creative and really thought outside the box.
