Tomorrow is the last day of school! I can hardly believe it! Years in the past have flown by but this year seems like it especially flew by. It is going to be so hard to say goodbye to these students. Let the fun and tears begin!!! On a happier note take a look at all the fun we got to experience during MAY!! Junior Achievement- We all graduated!! The students learned what it takes to build a city along with the different zones. They learned certain things they would have to think about if they were building their own business and what kinds of money to use and not use! Math - We worked hard to finish up our last unit 10. As a reward for the end of the year the students got to make their own math games and test them out on eachother. It was like a mini carnival in here. I could not believe the amount of creativity the students had. Challenge them this summer to make a math game!! The options were unless the only rule was that it had to incorporate something we have learned this year in math! Public Works Fieldtrip- Something new in the last couple of years has been going to the public works building for a field trip. The kids get super excited when they get their because they get to jump in all the heavy duty trucks and beep their horns! I hope you follow us on Twitter because the facts we learned that day were mind blowing! WE MET ZANE! - If you don't know who Zane is he is a super nice guy that just so happens to be going PRO next year and playing hockey from the Boston Bruins. He just left the Sioux. He was so nice to come and chat with all of Westside and give the kids his autograph along with answering questions! It was extra cool because our student Keyton was the one who won his stick at the silent auction. Zane was pumped to meet the boy who got his stick!
