The CARNIVAL is ALMOST here at WESTSIDE!! On May 1st from 5:30 until 7:30 our school will hold a carnival. The Westside Carnival is coming up on May 1st. This year, we are doing something a little different. All proceeds from the carnival will be donated to the Westside Back Pack Pro-gram.
During the carnival there will be a Silent Auction with gift baskets people can bid on. The school is pulling together to create baskets. Each class will be putting together a basket to put in the Silent Auction. Our class is in charge of making a LEGO basket for Boys and a Mani Pedicure Basket! If you can donate any items please send them with your child by ______________. If you want to donate money towards our basket I will go out and purchase items as well!

Does your child have talent?! If so encourage them to try out for the Variety show that will be held the day before the last day of school. Your child can try out with a friend or by themselves. Make sure he or she practices lots!!!!
Tryouts will be on May 5th -7th if your student makes the first round of tryouts in his or her classroom your student will head to the second round of tryouts in front of the Variety Show Committee: Mrs. Jenson!! ( I hear she is a tough judge to impress! ) Haha Our classroom got to go on it's first fieldtrip to Concordia College. When we arrived we were introduced to the college's percussion ensemble. The students learned what different instruments were and different sounds of them. I definitely think we have some future drum players in our class!!! Here are a few pictures I captured while we were there! Did I mention how well behaved the students were? Each one had amazing skills at being respectful and quiet during an hour long performance.
